Semester 2, Music Production: Sound All AroundAfter successful completion of this module students will be able to identify and understand the ways in which digital and communications technologies are used in music production and distribution, as well as the implications of these technologies on the industry. In this module, students, working in groups, will record an original piece of music, and will then use MIDI communication protocol to synthesize beats and rhythms, and mix the final musical tracks using digital music editing software.. Student CDs will be distributed to SoBRO staff and available to the community, with youth driving outreach and distribution efforts. Student project work will be accompanied by field trips to our production company program partners, including Viacom and ITP’s Sound Production lab. |
